CDG guide

All CDG terminals explained

Quick answer

CDG = Terminal 1 + Terminal 2 (halls 2A–2G, with 2E split into K/L/M) + Terminal 3. From 16 March 2027 they renumber to a simple 1–7 scheme.

CDG in one picture

Paris Charles de Gaulle has three terminal areas connected by the free CDGVAL automated metro:

  • Terminal 1 — a circular seven-storey central building linked to five satellite boarding areas. Handles both Schengen and non-Schengen flights.
  • Terminal 2 — not one building but a set of halls: Terminal 2 has halls 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G. Halls 2A–2D share a connected public area. Hall 2E has its own boarding halls K, L and M; 2F is mainly Schengen; 2G is a Schengen satellite reached by shuttle.
  • Terminal 3 — two buildings (departures and arrivals) near Roissypôle, one short CDGVAL ride from T2.

Which halls connect to which

PairConnection
2A ↔ 2B ↔ 2C ↔ 2DWalking landside through connected public areas and corridors
2E ↔ 2FAirside walking route with moving walkways
2E main ↔ halls L/MInternal automated shuttle inside 2E; hall K sits by the main building
2F ↔ 2GFree airside shuttle bus (~15 min ride)
T1 ↔ T2 ↔ T3Free CDGVAL metro, ~every 4 minutes

Halls K, L, M — why they matter

Terminal 2E departs from three distinct boarding halls, and your transfer time inside “2E” depends heavily on which one your gate uses: K sits by the main building, while L and M are farther out, reached by a free shuttle train. A “2E to 2F” connection can take anywhere from a short walk to 50 minutes — check the route for your hall on this site.

The 2027 renumbering

From 16 March 2027, the airport switches to simple numbers 1–7:
