RER B basics
The RER B is the main train between CDG and Paris: frequent urban trains reaching the city center in 25–40 minutes for €14 (2026 fare). It connects all three terminal areas — Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3/Roissypôle — with central Paris, stopping at Gare du Nord and Châtelet–Les Halles.
Where to board at the airport
- Terminal 3 / Roissypôle: the main airport station area, one stop from T1.
- Terminal 1: reached via the free CDGVAL from the station complex.
- Terminal 2: the station sits between halls 2C–2D and 2E–2F; follow “Paris par train” signs.
Tickets and fare
€14 for a single airport–Paris journey (2026 pricing, up from the older €13). Buy at machines, counters or via contactless/Navigo where enabled. The ticket covers the whole RER B network into central Paris, including transfers on the Métro/RER within the standard fare rules.
Paris stops that matter
- Gare du Nord (~30 min) — connections to Eurostar, Thalys, RER D/E, M4/M5.
- Châtelet–Les Halles — the central hub; connections to M1/M4/M7/M11/M14 and RER A.
- Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame / Luxembourg / Port-Royal — three Left Bank stops in a row.
- Denfert-Rochereau — a major Left Bank interchange with Métro lines 4 and 6.
Luggage and comfort
Trains have luggage racks near doors, but at commuter peaks (roughly 8–9:30 and 17–19:30 weekdays) space disappears fast. The RER B provides a direct rail connection between CDG and central Paris, with no transfers for most central stops. Keep your ticket until you exit — gates at both ends check it.
